The Gravel Formula
To calculate volume, you need to multiply your surface area (Length x Width) by your desired depth. Gravel is typically sold by the cubic yard or by the ton.
Pro Tip: Compaction
Remember that 'loose' gravel will compact down when you run a tamper or plate compactor over it. We recommend adding a 15% waste factor to your order to ensure you don't run short after the gravel settles.
